Apple Steel Cut Oatmeal

A warm and comforting breakfast that combines nutty steel cut oats with tender apples and spices, perfect for chilly mornings.

  • 4 cups water or milk
  • 2 medium apples, diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, bring 4 cups of water or milk to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, add the steel cut oats and a pinch of salt.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the diced apples and ground cinnamon, stirring to combine.
  5. Continue simmering for another 15 to 20 minutes until the oats are creamy and the apples are tender.
  6. If desired, stir in maple syrup or honey for additional sweetness.
