Best Homemade Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

A delicious combination of sweet bananas and rich chocolate chips, this chocolate chip banana bread is perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  3. Mash the bananas in a medium bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the melted butter to the bananas and mix well.
  5. Incorporate brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract; stir until combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  7. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix gently until just combined.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
