Cinnamon Donut Bread

A delightful fusion of cinnamon donuts and fluffy bread, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping.
  6. Pour half the batter into the greased loaf pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar topping.
  7. Pour the remaining batter and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar topping.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve warm with butter or dusted with powdered sugar. Leftovers can be stored wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container.
