Grinch Cookies

Delightful green cookies inspired by The Grinch, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Green food coloring (gel for bright color)
  • Red heart sprinkles or red candy melts

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in eggs, vanilla, and green food coloring until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Press a red heart sprinkle into the center of each ball.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges.
  8. Cool on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Best served fresh but can be stored at room temperature for up to a week.
