Old-Fashioned Egg Custard Pie

A classic, creamy, and comforting dessert that evokes sweet memories. Easy to make from scratch with just a handful of ingredients.

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Ground nutmeg, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9.5-inch pie plate with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a blender, combine the melted butter, eggs, sugar, salt, milk, vanilla, and flour. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie dish and sprinkle ground nutmeg on top.
  4. Bake for about 45 minutes until the custard is firm but slightly jiggly in the center.
  5. Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with whipped cream, fresh fruit, or drizzle with caramel or chocolate sauce. Can be stored at room temperature for a day or in the fridge for 3-4 days.
