In a large bowl, mix together flour and granulated sugar. Cut in the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
Place the crust in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cook until apples are just tender, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Once chilled, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Add the slightly cooled apple filling over the crust, spreading it evenly. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining crust mixture over the top.
Bake the assembled bars in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
While the bars are baking, prepare the salted caramel. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat until it turns a golden amber color. Remove from heat and stir in cream.
Let the bars cool completely in the pan before drizzling with salted caramel.
Cut into squares and enjoy!
