1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 large egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy—this takes about 2-3 minutes.
Add the maple syrup and egg to the bowl, mixing until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined to avoid overmixing.
Using a cookie scoop, place rounded tablespoons of dough on the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remember, they’ll continue to bake while cooling!
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
