- Steam or grill the all-beef hot dogs until heated through
- Lightly toast the poppy seed buns
- Place the hot dog in the bun
- Layer ingredients in order: mustard, relish, tomato wedges, pickle spear, sport peppers, onions
- Sprinkle generously with celery salt
- Serve immediately - never add ketchup!
Notes
The order of toppings matters - don't skip the celery salt! For authentic Chicago-style dogs, never add ketchup. Lightly toasting the buns prevents sogginess.
